The market operates on a network of narrow khlong, where vendors in wide-brimmed hats sell tropical fruit, pad thai, and fresh coconut from wooden boats. The scene is genuinely old in its logic, even if tourism has shaped its present form: canal trade was the economic backbone of this lowland region long before roads arrived, and the waterways remain navigable and in daily use.
