Whistler sits about 125 kilometres north of Vancouver along the Sea-to-Sky Highway, one of the most dramatically scenic drives in North America. Skiers in full kit walk the same cobbled paths as summer hikers and mountain bikers, and the village functions across all four seasons rather than shutting down between snowfalls. Upper Village, a quieter cluster around the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, offers a slightly different pace, and the residential neighbourhoods of Creekside to the south retain the character of the original settlement before the resort infrastructure arrived.
