Overview
Paris invented cabaret in the 1880s and remains the world capital of the art form. The Moulin Rouge in Montmartre is the most famous cabaret venue on Earth, running its Feerie revue nightly with 60 Doriss Girls, 1,000 costumes and a giant aquarium on stage. Crazy Horse is the most artistic, with choreographed nude dance performances and light design by Philippe Decoufle. Paradis Latin is the oldest cabaret theatre in Paris (built by Gustave Eiffel in 1889) and the most intimate.
Most cabarets offer show-only and dinner-show packages. Dinner shows include a 3-course French menu before the performance. Show-only tickets include champagne. Performances run nightly at 9pm and 11pm (Moulin Rouge) or 8:30pm and 10:45pm (Crazy Horse). Book 2 to 4 weeks ahead for weekend shows.
FAQ
Quick answers on booking, access and what to expect.
Moulin Rouge for the classic, iconic experience. Crazy Horse for artistic choreography and light design. Paradis Latin for an intimate, less touristy atmosphere. All three are excellent. Moulin Rouge sells out furthest in advance.
Show-only if you want to eat elsewhere (Paris has no shortage of restaurants). Dinner-show if you want the full cabaret experience in one evening. Dinner-show packages include champagne and a 3-course French menu.
2 to 4 weeks for weekend shows, 1 to 2 weeks for weekdays. The 9pm show sells out before the 11pm show. Dinner-show packages sell out before show-only. Summer and December are the busiest periods.
