Your flight begins with a meeting at Bahnhofplatz 7 in central Zermatt, where you'll receive a comprehensive safety briefing from your qualified pilot. After taking the cable car to either Blauherd or Rothorn launch site (depending on wind conditions), you'll strap in for an exhilarating take-off that requires just a short run before you're soaring between 2,600 and 3,100 metres above sea level.

As you glide through the alpine air, you'll enjoy panoramic views of the Matterhorn's iconic pyramid peak, the Gornergrat ridge, and the entire Zermatt valley spread out below. Your experienced pilot expertly navigates the thermals whilst you sit back and take in scenery that's impossible to appreciate from ground level. Flights operate year-round but summer conditions offer the most reliable weather for paragliding. You'll meet your pilot at Bahnhofplatz 7 in Zermatt, so arrive at least 15 minutes early for your safety briefing and equipment fitting. The entire experience lasts around 2-3 hours including preparation, cable car transport, and the 25-minute flight.

Cable car tickets to the launch site are not included in your paragliding ticket, but your pilot can assist with purchasing these and advising on discounts available with a Swiss Travel Pass or Half Fare Card. Weather conditions determine the exact launch location, with flights departing from either Blauherd or Rothorn depending on wind patterns.

Participants must weigh no more than 90kg and be able to run a short distance for take-off. Bring sturdy shoes and sunglasses, and dress in layers as temperatures can vary significantly with altitude. Flights may be rescheduled if weather conditions aren't suitable, so maintain some flexibility in your Zermatt itinerary for the best experience.
