Chinese Republicans Tickets: A Sharp New Comedy Off-Broadway

Chinese Republicans is a new play by Alex Lin, presented by Roundabout Theatre Company at the Laura Pels Theatre. Directed by Chay Yew, this biting satirical drama examines assimilation, intergenerational conflict, and gender politics in corporate America through the lens of four Chinese-American women navigating power and identity.

The Story

Three high-powered businesswomen meet monthly to celebrate career victories and commiserate over the challenges of being Asian-American women in corporate finance. Their dynamic is disrupted when a bright-eyed 24-year-old newcomer, Katie, joins the group. The generational clash that follows forces all four women to confront uncomfortable truths about ambition, authenticity, and the compromises required to succeed in a system that was not designed for them.

Cast and Creative Team

Directed by Chay Yew, the cast features Jennifer Ikeda, Jully Lee, Jodi Long, and Anna Zavelson. This is a world premiere production.
