Porto Cristo sits on Mallorca's eastern coastline, tucked into a narrow inlet where the Serra de Llevant mountains slope down to meet the Mediterranean. It is one of the island's oldest fishing settlements, and that origin still shapes the place: the harbour is small and genuinely working, the streets above it are modest rather than showy, and the pace is noticeably quieter than the resort strips to the south and west.
