Few cities in Europe carry the weight of Santiago de Compostela. For more than a thousand years, pilgrims have walked hundreds of kilometres across mountains, plains, and coastal paths to arrive at the Praza do Obradoiro and stand before one of the most theatrical facades in Romanesque and Baroque architecture.
