Arrival and preparation

Your adventure starts at Lake Macquarie Airport where you’ll check in and meet your highly experienced tandem instructor. Receive a comprehensive safety briefing, suit up in professional skydiving gear and prepare for your jump. All equipment including goggles and safety harnesses is provided. Spectators can watch from the viewing area, ensuring memorable moments are shared from start to finish.

The scenic ascent

Board the aircraft and embark on a 20-minute scenic flight climbing to 15,000 feet. As you ascend, take in magnificent sights of Newcastle’s coastline, Lake Macquarie and the wide expanse of Hunter Valley. Your instructor remains by your side, answering questions and ensuring your comfort and safety.

Taking the plunge – freefall

Once you reach jump altitude, the real excitement begins. Securely harnessed to your instructor, you’ll leap from the aircraft and race toward earth in a 60-second freefall, reaching speeds up to 200 km/h. Experience the rush of wind and the unforgettable sensation of flight as the landscape rapidly expands below.

Controlled parachute descent

Following the exhilarating freefall, your instructor deploys the parachute. Glide smoothly back to earth over 5–7 minutes, giving you plenty of time to soak in panoramic views of Blacksmiths Beach, the city of Newcastle and the surrounding coastline as you descend. Your instructor can even guide you through gentle spirals or calm glides depending on your preference.

Beach landing and celebration

Conclude your experience with a soft beach landing on Newcastle’s stunning shoreline. Receive a personalized skydiving certificate as a memento of your adventure. All participants are covered with accident insurance and receive a complimentary 3-month membership to the Australian Parachute Federation, enabling discounted future jumps across Australia.
