Mount Vesuvius Entry Tickets include skip-the-line access to the Gran Cono crater rim, 1,281 metres above the Bay of Naples.
Mount Vesuvius Entry Tickets give access to the summit of one of Europe's most closely watched active volcanoes, rising above the Bay of Naples in southern Italy. The volcano last erupted in 1944 and is monitored continuously by the Osservatorio Vesuviano, the oldest volcanological observatory in the world, founded in 1841. Entry covers the marked trail to the crater rim of the Gran Cono, at roughly 1,281 metres above sea level, where visitors look directly into the caldera and across the bay towards Naples and the Sorrentine Peninsula. Skip-the-line access is included, reducing wait times at the entrance gate on the upper slopes.
The ascent follows a well-maintained path of approximately 860 metres from the car park to the crater rim, taking around 30 minutes on foot at a moderate pace. The terrain is volcanic ash and compacted rock, so sturdy footwear is advised. Optional round-trip transfers are available from Pompeii or Naples, making it straightforward to combine the visit with the nearby Pompeii Naples attractions. Tickets cover crater rim entry and, where selected, the return transfer; on-site guides and audio equipment are available as add-ons depending on the booking option chosen.
These tickets cannot be cancelled or rescheduled.
